The History of
Bible Call
In the early 1970’s brother John M. Hurt, a preacher, missionary, and publisher, had an idea. His idea was to make short Bible messages available to people calling on the phone from the privacy of their homes. These messages would give people the ability to seek the answers to their questions in a non-threatening environment.
John worked with over one hundred prominent religious leaders from across the nation to write hundreds of five-minute messages. The idea worked. Over a million and a half calls were processed one year by just one church out of almost three hundred congregations that ran Bible Call. Always innovative, always faithful, John thought that there may be a better way to reach even more people. This system is the result of his hard work, vision, and unending faith in God and his fellow man.
This system is dedicated to the memory of our friend, Brother John, and those whom he touched in his life. We pray that we may continue to strive to reach the lost and exalt God’s name in all we do.

Through the years, lessons were added to the program. Individuals can also request Bible Study Courses to aid their growth in the faith. The program is dependent on our telling others and placing the list of lessons in their hands. This is done personally and through the mail and other advertisements. God depends on our sowing the seed of the Kingdom, the word of God. Let us know your ideas on how we can be more effective in this work, as we are willing to share with you how you can help.
